Reese Witherspoon took her career seriously when she first enrolled at Stanford University. At the beginning of her career, she played roles in movies like Pleasantville and Election. The daughter of a physician and a nurse Witherspoon grew up within Nashville Tennessee where she was an aspiring debutante. She also attended Harpeth Hall, which was a private girls' high school. In the year 1991, Witherspoon responded to a newspaper advertisement for extras on an impulse. Witherspoon was offered the role of lead actress in her debut feature film The Man in the Moon (1991) when she was just 14 years old. In her first year of high school, Witherspoon thought about quitting acting in order to join her parents in the field of medicine. Her performance as the main actor in Freeway earned her the Catalonian International Film Festival Award for Best actress. She deferred college for a year to focus on acting. She then briefly took a class in English writing at Stanford University before deciding to resume her working. The year 2003 was the year she made The Invisible Man was her first feature film. She then appeared in several shows on television, such as House of Lies Whitney, Better Call Saul and The Invisible Man. In addition, she has appeared in films such as The Dictator and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. In addition to her acting profession, she's also an accomplished painter and exhibits her work at several galleries.
